Skills

Software Design

My core responsibility at IBM was designing software solutions. I am experienced in designing web based and fat client solutions on both windows and unix/linux platforms. Integration has always been a strength of mine and I've developed a number of successful integrations using various technologies.

Sales / Consulting

Sales was a strong focus in my roles as arhcitect at IBM and as General Manager at Prompt. Negotiating and making deals that benefit all parites and stand the test of time is something I take pride in. I negotiated all of Prompt's current largest accounts as well as a number of mid sized ones.

Project Management

As a project manager I lead by example through hard work, discipline and a focus on the critical path. I'm good at recruiting and motivating people who have the skills a project needs and that compliment my approach.

Experience

Prompt Distribution

Director

2006-2017

I joined Prompt as director resposible for IT and took over as general manager in 2009 after a major disruption to the previous business model which revovled around a single large client. From that position I created a brand, developed a sales process, modernized systems and created new client relationships. I decided to expand my horizons from Prompt as I feel that I have established a great foundation for the business and it's time to seek out new challenges. I continue to maintain an interest in Prompt Distribution and play an active role in growing and guiding the business

IAG Insurance

Analyst Team Lead

2005-2006

I joined IAG as a system analyst and quickly progressed to lead the team of a major project converting the product sales database from a fat client to a web based application. While I was enjoying my time at AIG and met some great people I was offered a directorship at Prompt Distribution and decided to accept it.

International Business Machines (IBM)

IT Architect

2001-2005

I started with IBM as a developer, I moved from Melbourne to Adelaide because I wanted to work for the largest IT company in the world. I was part of a large scale project delivering automated PSTN activation and provisioning to telco retailers via a web portal. After two years I moved into the project office in Melbourne and learned about how the business was run, then decided to return to delivery as an IT Architect responsible for designing solutions and negotiating their progress from Feasability Assessment through to Build and Aquire.

I decided to leave IBM as I found working in very large corporations beurocratic and frustrating in many ways, so decided to persue opportunities that allowed me more freedom to apply my skills in ways that delivered maximum positive impact for the businesses I worked for.
